LegalEASE Partners with Local Organizations to Combat the Rise in Domestic and Intimate Partner Violence

LegalEASE’s new initiative focuses on providing resources and assistance for victims and survivors of domestic abuse in hopes of curbing the rise of the epidemic.

Houston, TX, October 1, 2022 - LegalEASE announced today the launch of its Domestic Violence Awareness initiative that establishes community partnerships with local area organizations, raises funds, and brings awareness to the epidemic of domestic and intimate partner violence. LegalEASE is committed to creating a world where every person lives without fear of domestic violence. Their mission is to support, empower, and compassionately advocate for anyone affected by domestic violence, regardless of race, culture, gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation. Additionally, LegalEASE is offering resources and assistance for victims and survivors of domestic and intimate partner violence.

LegalEASE Chief Strategy Officer Tracy Lalasz Finn states, "LegalEASE is uniquely positioned to make a significant impact in support of victims of Domestic Violence and Intimate Partner Abuse with our 20,000+ Attorney Network and legal resources. LegalEASE’s Domestic Violence Initiative is focusing its efforts in the following areas:

• Overseeing the donation of a portion of LegalEASE’s profits to their partner organizations, AVDA and Families to Freedom
• Creating year-round opportunities for employees to volunteer their time and energy to causes that support victims of Domestic Violence and Intimate Partner Abuse
• Developing resources internally to help when a person is suffering under Domestic Violence, providing comprehensive toolkits and matching victims with third party organizations who can help in crisis
• Curating a list of organizations that specialize in supporting victims and aid for emergency services such as legal and financial assistance
• Developing greater levels of support internally for employees in need and for their client partners

AVDA is a nonprofit organization that has served the Houston community for 40 years with the mission to end family violence by advocating for the safety and self-determination of victims, promoting accountability for abusers and fostering a community response to abuse. About Families to Freedom

Families to Freedom began service in October 2015 to address the lack of available shelter for domestic violence victims. According to The Institute for Urban Policy Research At The University of Texas at Dallas, in 2015 an average of 630 callers to Dallas shelters each month are denied service due to a lack of space. The mission at Families to Freedom is to provide survivors of domestic violence free long-distance transportation to reunite with family or get to shelter far away. The organization is working with ten area shelters, hospitals, and various police departments.
